God’s Rule in Man (Gen 1:26-27)

The biblical theme of the kingdom of God has its origins in the Garden of Eden before the Fall. The kingdom is not merely a spiritual kingdom; God intended to establish his visible rule in the earth through his image-bearers—man and woman. But there has been an interruption to that plan when Adam and Eve fell. But the Fall did not abort God’s plan to rule this planet through humans whom he has created. The kingdom now required a redemption of humans as God’s image-bearers.
